Timperley 1 v Heaton Mersey

With Mersey currently unbeaten, and Timperley having lost once this was a potential title decider. Mersey were yet again slow to start, and let Timperley take a 4-0 headstart. Playing on astro meant it was going to be a good game for the attackers on both teams. By half time, Timperley were leading 9-6. Mersey were continuing to get stronger, and as the game entered the final ten minutes they had pulled the scores level. With the score at 14-14, and about a minute to play, Timperley scored one more and that proved to be the vital goal. Mersey won possession from the draw but didn't have time to move the ball into the attacking third before the final whistle. Ultimately beaten by a more organised team, but disappointing to lose none the less. All the pressure is now on Mersey to win their remaining games in order to stand a chance of re-claiming the league title.
